    I’ve tried joining/merging country polygons using both kryptograph.py and QGIS.  Both leave strange line artifacts on the borders of the countries in exactly the same spots, which seems to indicate that the country polygons don’t match exactly in those places.

    I’m attaching an SVG of the continent Africa joined / merged (using the 110m data).

    Can anyone help me create a clean join / merge without all the extra little lines?

    Sorry … apparently no SVGs.  Here’s a JPG instead.
