Hello,
I am working on a project and I hope this is the right place to post for help.
After all my searching Natural Earth has the imaging I am looking for…zooming to “street” level without the streets and buildings.
While researching I also found your map used on Google Earth. I was a little disappointed that at a certain point in the top down view things got out of focus, but maybe that can be fixed.
I do like Google Earth because the controls are very user friendly…ArcGIS are nonexistent. And getting down to Street level is simple. Unfortunately I need to put my globe into a C++ application and Google does not allow this.
I have found a broken C++ application to create a sphere. And, I am sure with some work I can create a control interface widget to manipulate the sphere much like in Google Earth.
The question is how to paste Natural Earth onto my sphere?
Does any body have any ideas on this?
Better yet. If the Universe is willing. Is there already some one who has had the same need and has the solution they are willing to share?
I look forward to collaboration and comparing notes.
Thanks,
Bill
